Conversations by the Well
A place to pause, breathe, and find peace in God's presence.Come as you are. Release what weighs on you and be renewed by His truth.
A Moment to Breathe
Take a gentle breath. Whatever this moment holds, you don't have to carry it alone. As you breathe, turn your thoughts toward God's presence, His promises, and His peace.
Begin with a gentle breath.Inhale slowly through your nose for 4 seconds.Exhale gently for 6 seconds, without holding your breath.Breathe in: God Most High, I cry out to You.Breathe out: You hear me and work on my behalf.Breathe in: Father, I trust Your promises.Breathe out: Fulfill Your purposes for me.Continue alternating these prayers with each breath for 2 minutes, or as long as feels comfortable. Start with just 3 cycles if you need to.If the rhythm feels uncomfortable or makes you dizzy, stop the exercise and return to your natural breathing.
God's Promise — Psalm 57:2 (AMPC)“I will cry to God Most High, Who performs on my behalf and rewards me [Who brings to pass His purposes for me and surely completes them]!”
A Closing PrayerHeavenly Father, I come to You just as I am. You know what is weighing on my heart—the thoughts I keep turning over in my mind, the nights I lie awake unable to rest, and the prayers I haven't even found the words to speak. You know the conversations I need to have but keep avoiding, the situations I don't know how to resolve, and the circumstances that churn in my stomach and lay siege to my thoughts. Lord, nothing I'm carrying is hidden from You.Thank You for hearing me when I cry out to You. Thank You for being my Father, my provider, my protector, and my help. I don't have to earn Your love or prove myself worthy of Your care. I can come to You because I am Your child.Lord, I trust You to work on my behalf. Sometimes Your provision may be financial relief, a new opportunity, an unexpected blessing, or a door opening that I couldn't open myself. Other times, it may be the strength to get through another day, peace in the middle of uncertainty, or simply a good night's sleep when my mind has been overwhelmed. Whatever Your answer looks like, help me recognize Your hand at work.Father, I surrender the outcome to You. Even when I don't understand what You're doing or how things will work out, remind me that Your vision extends beyond my 20/20 sight. You see what I cannot see. You arrange, rearrange, plan, and coordinate the details of my life, even preparing for moments in time I haven't reached yet. While I'm trying to figure out what to do next, You are already working on my behalf. Even when things don't look good from where I'm standing, help me remember that You see the end from the beginning and are working to bring Your purposes for me to completion.Fulfill Your purposes for me, Lord. Comfort me through Your Holy Spirit, strengthen my faith, and remind me that You have not forgotten me.In Jesus' name, Amen.Additional Scripture for reflection: Jeremiah 29:11
